Amy Shield has a vast wealth of legal experience, having practiced law since 1976, concentrating in civil appeals and providing litigation support at all stages of the trial court proceedings. She has earned the distinction of an AV-Preeminent peer review rating from Martindale-Hubbell, the highest legal recognition for professional ability and ethical standards.

Born in Brooklyn, New York, but raised on the Treasure Coast and in South Florida, Amy graduated from the University of Florida (magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa) and the University of Miami School of Law (awarded the American Jurisprudence Book Award for Torts).

She is admitted to practice in all Florida state courts, the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal and Eleventh Circuits, and the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida. Amy focuses on cases in many civil practice areas, including marital and family law (divorce, pre- and post-nuptial agreements, supportive relationships, alimony, equitable distribution, child support, and timesharing), probate, trusts, guardianships, contract disputes, complex commercial issues, personal injury, medical malpractice, product liability, insurance issues, and injunctions.
